Notice of AGM 2012
The Annual General Meeting of the Mansfield Eagles Soccer Club will be held on Tuesday 28th February, 2012 at 7.00 pm in Science Theatre, Science Building, Citipointe Christian College, 322 Wecker Road, Carindale.
The following positions will be vacated at this year’s AGM:
Firstly, we will need to fill the Secretary position. If this role is not filled, then according to the rules of an Incorporated Association, the club may be in danger of having to fold. The Secretary is responsible for the correspondence of the club, both incoming and outgoing. S/he will be required to take the minutes at meetings, which are held once a month, usually the third Tuesday of the month. There are also QCSA Meetings that need to be attended throughout the season, which is shared amongst the Committee Members. These are not very often at all. The outgoing Secretary will hand over all the information you require for this position.
The Results Officer is also an important position within the committee. This person receives the results via text message from every game, U9 to Senior Men/Over 40, played each Friday night and Saturday from the Manager of the team. Then these results need to be uploaded on the QCSA website by a particular time on Saturday night. These results are posted on the ladders on the QCSA Website Saturday night, which is viewed by the teams each week. The outgoing Results Officer will show you exactly what needs to be done.
The South East Zone Liaison helps organize the players from within our club to try out for the Zone teams, and needs to attend the Zone Meetings to keep up to date on what is happening. The QCSA Association is broken up into Zones. Mansfield Eagles is in the South East Zone. Each year, there is a competition held, usually the long weekend in June, where the Zones play each other. Teams from U10 to Over 40’s are included. Teams are made up of players selected from each club within the Zone. From the Zones, the players have an opportunity to be selected to play in the Qld State Teams. The State teams are involved in a competition against other states who have Soccer Christian Associations. There is a newsletter on our website from the South East Zone Committee.
The Chaplain position has been vacant for a couple of years. We see this position as an extremely important one in our Club. We are a Christian Club, and the Chaplain helps oversee the spiritual side of the club. We would really like to see this position filled this season. Each season there are times where families go through circumstances where a chaplain would be of great benefit.
The Canteen Coordinator is responsible for stocking the canteen for Saturday games. Stock will need to be purchased to sell on Saturdays, which includes hot and cold drinks, lollies, chips, pies and sausage rolls throughout the season when needed. Each Saturday, the canteen will need to be opened about 7.30am. The float will need to be placed in the register drawer, urn will need to be turned on and milk placed in the fridge. Each team who plays at the Citipointe Soccer Field is responsible for rostering a parent on every game to man the canteen. The Canteen Coordinator will not be needed to stay there all day. At the end of the day, the money will need to be picked up, and the canteen locked. The float is kept by the Canteen Coordinator and the profit is given to the Treasurer to be banked. This role can be done by more than one person.
We are not sure of what other positions are in need of being filled this season. There are brief descriptions on the nomination form for each position.
Please seriously consider on taking on a role within the Soccer Committee or the Committee of Management.
We understand lives are busy, but the more people we have on our committee willing to take on a position, the more successful our club will be, and the returning committee members can have their workloads reduced.
You can let us know you are willing to help by filling out the nomination form.
